Vitamin C + Sunscreen. A Good Idea?

You've probably heard that "vitamin C makes you more sensitive to the sun, so only use it at night". Well we're here to give that a big, fat, MYTH label! FALSE FALSE FALSE, and here's why:

Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant, which means that it helps fight free radicals- those pesky, unstable oxygen atoms that wreak havoc on our skin by trying to stabilize themselves. Instead of stealing from our skin's necessary atoms, vitamin C gives those free radicals what they need (an extra electron)- making your skin safe. Not all heroes wear capes, y'all.

When you pair an antioxidant with ultra-violet protection (like a broad spectrum 30SPF+ protector), you're fighting free radicals AND UV damage. How is this a bad idea?!

While using active ingredients can cause your skin to be more sensitive to UV rays, many vitamin C products (like our very own Liquid Gold) are perfectly safe and recommended to use morning and night. And as always, use the damn sunscreen!
